Messiah's Hosanna in Us- Matthew 21:1-11 and Colossians 3:1-17
1. What things do many nominal Christians want Christ to primarily deliver them from?
poverty, sickness, trials, difficult social relationships, etc
2. How did the Holy speak to you about going to Christ to change your heart idols in Galatians 5:19-21?
passion, power, pride, pleasure
3. How can we help one another make our passion for Christ stronger?
sharing recent blessing or answers to prayer, reminding of Christ's finished or future works, pointing to His attributes, our love example, giving humble exhortation, etc
4. What is your weakest effort for renewing your mind daily?
reading, studying, memorizing, meditating, praying from, rejoicing over, journaling, or sharing daily Bible involvement
5. How do accountibily partners help us replace bad habits with godly habits?
sharing how they have replaced that habit, pointing out helpful Scripture, giving another set of eyes, encourage not to stop trying, praying with them for grace and forgiveness
6. What is the difference between Christ being tempted and us?
no sin nature, His greater sensitivity to spiritual beings, representing more people, holding out longer made the pressure build on Him progressively
7. What are some good ways to look at feelings related to being delivered from sin?
feelings follow thoughts and choices,
give first thought to God's pleasure before your pleasure, commands and not feelings, must obeyed, and right actions bring right feelings and wrong actions bring wrong feelings in God's plan
