WHAT TO EXPECT

What are the services like?

Each service provides an opportunity for you to connect and grow closer to God through inspiring music, practical preaching, and a friendly atmosphere.

Our services last about 1 hour. Our desire is to turn our focus toward God because worship is for His glory. We also offer unique Spanish, Chinese, and Arabic services.

Music

Our services include both traditional hymns and modern worship songs. Our music includes choir music congregational singing and ensemble groups. Our desire is that your heart is guided to worship our awesome God.

Sermons

Our sermons come directly from the verses of the Bible. Feel free to bring a Bible or download one to your phone, so that you can follow along with the teaching.

Our sermons are also Christ-centered and practical, emphasizing Gospel applications for real life.

What should I wear?

Most people who attend wear business casual dress, but you are welcome to wear whatever is comfortable for you.

So grateful for Gospel-focused preaching and a loving church family!

MORNINGSIDE KIDS

Infants and Toddlers

Infants, Toddler, and Preschool Rooms (through age 4) can be found on the left side of the Auditorium. At every service there are safe, clean, well-equipped rooms and well-trained staff and volunteers to care for children. You will be asked to give your cell phone number at check-in so that the nursery staff can easily contact you if there is a need.

Kids

K5-Grade 5 (Primary & Elementary Rooms) can be found in our Kids Wing behind the auditorium. Our skilled volunteers, technology, fun activities, and excellent environment communicates the timeless knowledge of our loving God. We believe this makes our kids' ministry a place your child will be asking you to bring them back to each week. Classes take place at each of our worship services with the exception of our elementary children on Sunday evenings. Elementary children worship with their parents in the main Auditorium.

A gift for you

If you are our guest for the first time, please stop by the Guest Services table in the lobby after our Sunday AM worship service to pick up a coffee mug filled with treats as our gift to you. We want you to know how much we appreciate you visiting with us. We hope you’ll come back again

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Our friendly greeters at each of the entrances can guide you to the location in the building you are looking for. You can also go to the Welcome Center in the center of our main lobby where you can find answers to questions, such as, "Where do my children go to class? Where should I go?" and even "Where are the closest restrooms." Someone at the desk will be happy to answer any question you may have.

  • Sunday school and small groups are at 11:15 on Sunday mornings. They are a great time to learn God’s Word in smaller groups where you can build relationships. We have Sunday School and small group classes for all ages: nurseries, preschool, elementary, middle school, high school, college young adults, young married couples, growing families, empty nesters, and senior adults. Find a list of classes here, or just ask at our welcome center.

  • No, we do not invite you to our church for your money. We hope that the worship and fellowship will be a gift to you, so please don’t feel obligated to give. Our prayer is that you will receive the greatest gift, eternal life, if you haven’t already. We'd love to talk to you about the Gospel if you have questions.

  • We would love for you to sign up to attend a Starting Point class where you will be able to meet pastors in person. You will learn about the history, philosophy, and vision of Morningside. We will also share ways you can find your place as an engaged member at Morningside through our various ministries. As time allows, we will try to answer your questions. You can usually find a pastor in the main lobby following our services.

  • If you have more questions about church membership, please visit morningside.org/membership. You can also attend a Starting Point class to learn more.

  • For uniformity, the preaching in our English services is from the King James Version 1769 edition, however, we are not “King James Only.” We encourage members to study God's Word using multiple translations, and members in our small groups and Sunday school classes often use different translations. As the King James translators stated in their preface, "Variety of Translations is profitable for the finding out of the sense of the Scriptures" (Preface to 1611 Translation, xiv). But in our English services, we preach and teach from the King James Version. Of course, our Spanish, Chinese, and Arabic services use translations from their native language.

  • If you have more questions, you may find your answer on this website, or you are welcome to call our office at (864) 297-7890 or email us at info@morningside.org.
